Any fans of the band?? I got the album Cross the Styx and its freakin awesome. Sounds a bit like Monstrosity. Nice fast paced riffs and drums.

Me like Sinister. Cross The Styx is a great album.

They really deserve some more recognition, though.

Alright, I'll give them a try, Japanese Black Speed rarely disappoints.

Hmm judging from your pic you'd fit in more with a fat busted tribute.

They were the the most brutal dutch metal band. I've read about 'm but never listened to any songs.

Yeah me too. I have Aggressive Measures too and its ok. I didn't really bother with them after that one disappointed me though.

You should get Bastard Saints though, its good.

I agree.

The new CD, "The Blood Past," which is a collection of their demos, promises to be interesting.

These guys are freaking awesome.

They deserve A LOT more posts than this for sure.

"Cross the Styx" and "Diabolical Summoning" are legendary death metal records.

Here's a good death metal band. They're a great example of what brutal should sound like. Death Metal fusion with unrelenting speed metal muffled strum attacks.

This is a great band.

Are you talking about those weird sphincter-spasms where it feels like there's a ghost dick in your ass for a little while and then it just disappears?

Oh my god! A sarcastic reply. I didn't see one of those coming. (see I can do it too) I wasn't attempting to enlighten or condescend to anyone. I was just sharing my views. The fact that something as simple as that got you so butthurt is not a good sign. If you really have such a problem with that statement, you could at least have the decency to explain why you think it is so inaccurate.

Yes, we all know that deep down, King is oh so insecure about himself.
If I took this cigarette and put it out on you...

Listened to Cross the Styx a while ago; was thoroughly bored. I'm listening to Diabolical Summoning now, which sounds a lot better, but I feel like the music just sounds... tired? I'm not impressed thus far.

^ You disgust me.

How's that for thoroughly supported?

Just foolin', I didn't much care for CtS for the first listen, but it gets better. It's like a trusty friend with whom you thought you'd never form a relation.

Cross The Styx is pretty awesome, though I think I've only listened to it once or twice.

Early material is indeed sweet(i'm NFA on the brutality factor),but **** were they ever dissapointing live.

The first time I heard Cross the Styx it was seriously underwhelming. I heard great things about it, including the idea that this was perhaps one of the best pieces of death metal focusing on percussive onslaught. But I was expecting something more melodic at the time due to my mood, and so didn't quite understand this album. Until now.

Absolutely crushing, incredibly fitting production, properly placed leads and an unprecedented focus on power chord grooves. Rhythmically, an incredibly powerful album.
