I want to get a new amp which would be gigable but affordable probably a combo becoz they r ushally cheaper. I play most styles from jazz to rock but not to much metal so im not looking for that grindy sound. Can anyone make any suggestions into possible amp choices?

Are you looking for a solid state or valve?

hmmm i dont know much about amps, im guessing that solid states are generally cheaper but lacking in sound?

valves sound better overdriven, much creamier. Since you play jazz and rock i strongly suggest valve. solid states are usually better for hard distortion for metal.

for 300 you may struggle to find a new valve amp, but maybe look at used ones. just shop around a bit

Yeah, Laney sounds like the way to go. The VC and the LC are both great amps. LC is more of a hard rock, and the VC is more of a light rock amp. Personally, I prefer the tones of the VC.
