"EMG - designed" and "EMG" are two different things.

The bridge might be made out of crappy metal which will wear after time.

It's alder with crap pick ups, crap tuners and looks horrible with a crap tremelo to go with it. thats the only catch i can see

Yeah, I get Guitar One. It's cheap and helps me learn how to play (every issue comes with a cd with the tracks on it).

I don't really trust any magazine reviewer's opinion on gear though.
