What are some chords and scales "hardcore" bands use?

(i.e. from first to last, as i lay dying)

FFTL=screamo/emo

And they use a lot of powerchords. Go look at some tabs for them.

Actual "hardcore" chords don't exist. It's the phrasing that matters. You could play any chord you want and make it sound "hardcore" with the right phrasing.

Phrasing is how you space the chords. Even if you play Major chords, but play them slowly and softly, the progression is going to sound slower and more relaxed.

Try these two things for an example:

Play A Major four times, SLOWLY. Then E Major four times, SLOWLY. Now, D Major four times SLOWLY. By slowly, I'm talking around 60 bpm. If you have a metronome it will help.

Now, play the exact same chords in the same order 4 times each. Just this time, play them FAST. Try 240 bpm.

Do you see how the first exercise sounds soft and relaxed, but the second sounds energetic and bright? That's phrasing.
