Get him into blues. Lyrical depth-not so much. But it is groovy and it is black people's music so if he doesn't enjoy then he is not a true black person.

DR Hi-Beam 9s

Brand: DR
Model: Hi Beam
Size: 9
Why: They are amazing. I just got a new pair yesterday. They are very flexable and are extremely easy to play. They sound very nice and last a long time too.

D'addario makes pretty good strings. Both for acoustisc and electric.

ernie ball - 9 or 10

Ernie Ball's only strings I love. Great for any type of music and rarely rust or break. Easy on the fingers as well, they dont tear your fingers up or make them hurt at all.

No way your gona find your perf strings unless you buy em all! or ask me....and i say " Diaddarios"

Meh, I usually just buy them off the local shaman, unless I'm in the wilderness, where I rely on raw meat to raise my HP.

Tried D'Addario, hated them.
Tried Ernie Ball, hated them even more.
Tried DR, never will try another string again.

I use DR Tite Fit 10s. The strings sound and feel so good not only fresh out the pack, but on the guitar two months later. They sound so crisp. Hammer ons and pull offs are amazingly easier to do.

^What He said^

I use size 10 they last way longer than those craptacular Ernie Ball Strings.

I would always buy Ernie ball strings and it would only take a day or a week to rip.

I hated Elixir strings. Dont get them. They are one of the most expensive strings and they are horrible. They coating on them started peeling on the strings and they felt so bad.

I have tried a few brands, I like Ernie Ball the best definetly. I started with Didarrio, they were ok, then some other crappy brands and then i tried ernie ball slinkies and i stuck with them. I like GHS boomers to, they last quite a while.
