And no, I'm not an emo or depressed.

Whenever I come up with a riff I like, it usually tends to be a more sad, slower based guitar part. Their great to play whenever I want to get emotion out, but, it's getting quite old.

So, I'd appreciate it if someone could give me a few tips. I've been playing for about 5 months now and I can play decent.

By the way, I'm familiar with the major pentatonic scale, but that just isn't doing it for me. If anyone knows any happier, brighter sounding scales by all means post them, or a link to some.

Also, if you know any more upbeat songs that use those scales, or just use happier sounding scales, post them too.

They don't neccesarily have to be happier, they can be just 'normal', too.

Thanks in advance
