I play Metal, my pups are probably going to be sitting on a x2n/full shred or x2n/jazz.

Hey greety, you've got a Roland cube right? (I'm pretty sure you do...)

Whats your opinion on it and how well does it do metal?

And threadstarter, please tell us what guitar and amp you have.
I mean, you don't wanna be playing a Plywood made guitar with active emgs into an Marshall Mg....

Yeah, I have a cube. It's great. I think it plays metal pretty well for my bedroom warrioring. I wouldn't use it as a gigging amp though.

*Mr Burns Voice* Excellent... I guess I'll try them out in the shop soon.... They didn't have them when I went there the other day so I made them order some new ones.

You will need some space in your guitar's body for a 9V battery since most EMGs are active pickups.

I have a Jackson Warrior fitted with an Original Floyd Rose and Seymour Duncans (Full Shred in the neck and a Dimebucker in the Bridge) played straight through a JCM 900.

The Full Shred neck pickup is seriously awesome, fat and it cuts through for lead playing. It has an amazing clean tone too

I would consider a DiMarzio Super 2 for the neck as well, but for the bridge the Dimebucker is badass enough. I almost bought an Invader but the clean sucked so much it was real muddy, I think it was meant for distortion.

Once again...

Bill Lawrence L500xl bridge/L500r neck

$50 each, how can you beat that?
It's a fine line between clever and stupid.

you need EMGs

the two kings of thrash used EMGs Megadeth and Metallica

Megadeth started using livewires though.

Livewires are 2000 times better than EMGs. Unlike EMGs, they have tone. And insane power. And they are freakin sweet.

^Mustaine did not use EMGs, He and Marty Friedman used Duncan JB/Jazz Combo.

Yah, well they havent been on any albums yet. We will soon hear his new tone!

Oh and the livewires were build off of the JB/Jazz models anyhow, so they are now just active.
