to be honest its largley a cliché anti war song but Ive been having writers block recently and i need to break it with something... anywhoo im tryin to write a war type song from the other sides point of view, in this case during world war 2, from the point of view of someone like my grandfather, i started it with a plan to make it more of a story and make the point that both sides essentially feel the samething and its the big cheeses that are doin the wrong not the soldiers, and how wrong it gets that an innocent person like my grandfather cud be prosectuted still today as a criminal... but meh, i dont mind if you wanna insult it its not that great, any kind of critism is accepted

Born with nothing but some sparse hopes and dreams
they were only visiting...
took away your freedom, tore his world from the seams
saw a light for his people, if a little misconceived
Mass manipulation however, the locals believed...

That they were fighting in the name of all that is good
that God?s on their side, and he wants blood
and like their brothers holding a loaded gun to their head
In the end you both have as much right to be dead

And despite all your chains
made for this criminal of war
you?ve fell victim to
your own unjust law

Its time to grow up, yeah its time to be a man
for the good of his family...
He?s to go be a hero, part of Gods master plan
fight for your country and die for beliefs
Suffer for freedom, it?ll only bring grief

Maybe his acts will save his family at home
while his enemy fights for his wife left alone
just like their uniform there both tattered and torn
and by the end of the day they?d wish they?d never been born

And despite all your chains
made for this criminal of war
you?ve fell victim to
your own unjust law
