Wow... I live near seattle, where music is god, so I see some pretty wild customization.

A custom made 8x15 amplified by 2 old Mcintosh amplifier heads. I'd estimate about 2200 watts.

I guess if you watch Pimp My Ride you might remember when they put the 8000 watt Jackhammer speaker in some guys car. Could you imagine playing through that?

Wasn't that thing like 150 dB? Crazy...

"THE WAX IS COMING OUT OF MY EARS!"

"WHAT?"

That loud.

Oh and the aforementioned Behringer is a claimed 2000; its more like 1200 from a real amp.

Oh my god, why are people listing CABS when this person is clearly asking for AMPS???

Ampeg SVT-4 puts out around 1400 watts at 4 or 2 ohms?(not sure, its one of those)
That's around the highest for a bass head
But..

There are power amps, like the QSC Powerlight that puts out 4000w bridges mono 4 ohms.

You need to pay attention. Combos=amp, Head+Cab=amp.

They are both amps.

I never talked about JUST a cab

I thought throwing in the fact that this guy had a friggin 8x15 would get the power point across.

actually, head + cab = amplification system but as a matter of technicality he was right. The only thing that actually is an amp is the head.

Aguilar used to make a 3000W head.

And the undeniable biggest handling on a cab:

3200W.

they also have a 650W all-tubed head there.

Cabs aren't loud, the signal amplified by the amp is loud however... which is why its pointless to say "The basson 8x10 cabs have 2000 watts" which they don't, they can handle up to 2000 watts from an amp. I'm not saying your wrong just the people listing cabs.

Head signals aren't loud, they can be used to power things to MAKE a loud sound....see how annoying it is when someone over analyses what you say? now stop it
