Okay, so my band is playing a show in about a month or so, and I am looking for a good guitar for playing live. I want it to sound good, but be pretty light so that I can put on a good show. Right now I use an Ibanez RGR 220 DX, and it's heavier than the bass that I own. Any suggestions?

Why would I get banned? I don't remember the password to my other account.

The amp I use for practicing at home is a Peavey Rage 158. I'm not sure what amps we are using for the show.

There is a $150 Squier Fat Strat on musiciansfriend.com...usually, strats are pretty lightweight, but i've never played a Fat Strat, so I don't know if they are light, and I sure as hell don't know if they sound decent.

Try those $100 Deans, they're basswood, which is generally quite light.

you cant have two accounts, go around wt that sig and ull wake up in the forum of the banned, trying to explain urself.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.

Oh, okay then.

I might just get that Fat Strat Squier then, since either way I'll have to change the pickups.

^In my humble opinion, the Dean is a much better guitar. Squiers, especially the Affinity series Strats, have some... shall we say... construction issues.

light guitars... that sound great... through a peavy rage 158...

I had a Peavy Rage 158 and the tone of it is for sh!t. It sucked and then it died and I bought a Crate amp (pawn shop because i was poor) the tone out of it clean is great, but distortion sucks. ( to correct this i got Digitech's Death Metal Pedal)

at the very least u want a FAT strat not a 3-single coil strat.

the fat doesnt mean its heavy it means its got a humbucker in the bridge, that gives it a FAT sound.

$200USD, yamaha 112 FAT strat, made of alder, ultra light.

# 1 points to the humbucker.

if u cant spend $200, then
$99 for the dean evo. nice and light basswood, like said.
or maybe $150 for the Alder wood washburn. W25? something like that, but it needs to be the alder wood one.
