Are they worth the dent in your wallet? i REALLY want to play one.. i never even seen a demo of one.. Do any one know where to find a demo of a krank amp? like a video? I herd the Sound clips on the krank site and i listen to alot of the bands on the krank roster.. but still want a video demo..

the thing with krank amps it alot of people hate them and alot of people like them so any opinion you get is gonna be biased. you really just have to find one and check it out.

well i played one, i must say, extremely loud and in yo face, but i find i can;t get any sound other than liek a pantera sound. just soduns too sterile and crunchy, its just a tad warmer than a solid state, but thtas my opinion

I hated it. Too dark, like pitch black tone. And not in a cool, Mesa/Boogie style either. Just... no treble, no presence, no definition at all.

And **** cleans.

you can get a much better amp for less than the Krank, Peavey 5150/6560 is alot better than a krank. but still, don' go by videos, go to the store and play an amp that you are interested.
As I see the ignorance of humanity engulfing reason and sanity like a wave of perpetual defeat and misery I ask myself, when the hell is everyone going to shut up and actually think?

that sucked. you definately need some sort of overdrive going into it, the solos sounded "twangy" and that was with a LP?? I played the Chadwick which must be a blues amp b/c there was more distortion from a Crate solid state, and I played the Rev1 or whatever and all it had was loud bassy power chords without any sizzle and a twangy lead tone. Get a 6505+,XXX,or Mesa Mark IV, dual or triple rec if youre gonna drop that kind of cash on a head.

Also it (The Rev1 or 2?) had no practice level for volume control (which the Krankenstien has I guess with the master volume) it was either super thin and too quiet or it shakes windows somewhere between 1 and 2 on the volume knob. NOT worth the "Dime" you have to drop for it.

Nice link, the Peavey XXX on Crunch channel (which is quite a bit weaker than the Ultra channel) sounds better than the Krank. The Mesa sounds sweet but the Peavey has more crunch and buzz when palm muting which I like, and I cant argue with the classic Marshall tones but the Krank sounds like its 2 dimensional with no depth. Anybody who wants a great deal on a XXX just go find a used Triumph PAG60 or 120, basically the same circuitry (predecessor to the XXX) minus a presance control which volume substitues for nicely.

I wish they could show you clips with some mids dialed in for once. I personally am sick of scooped sounds and Im glad i grew out of liking scooped sounds.
