Could someone share with em a great tube amp that would be good for old school metal like Pantera, Slayer and various others... I recently started a band like that and I desperately weanna get rid of my MG. Price doesn't matter. I'm gettin a job soon so I can save for plenty of time.

And whilst the thread is still here. Wha's the difference between Peavey 5150's (or whatever) and 6505's?

5150 and 6505 are IDENTICAL.

Anyway, that's probably a good bet for you, the 6505. It's a great metal amp. Otherwise check out ENGL, Diezel, Bogner, or Mesa/Boogie.

I would really love an ENGL or a Mesa. But the thing is, even thoguh I'm gettin a job soon, the prices are so damn high over ehre. So high that I would get worried about taking them anywhere...

Oh, you're in the UK.

In that case, get a Marshall JCM and an OD pedal, they're cheaper for you.

It's cheaper to get the peavey xD And plus I've really gone off of Marshalls ever since I had the MG *gag* *retch*

I think you could consider Laney and a pedal as well. GH50?
It's a fine line between clever and stupid.

ENGL are cheaper in the UK than in the US. $1400 for a powerball.

and powerballs = sex.

laney are also another very good idea.
