Anyone build this version of the fuzz face? Does it actually work?

I tried, but it sounds horible, and thats when i get any sound through the amp at all, most of the time, i get nothing!

Any help greatly apperciated!

As long as your connections are good (good solder joint, or if it's on a breadboard), the problem is (most likely) with your circuit.

Try retracing your circuit, as long as you have the right BJTs and they're connected properly (BCE), then it should work fine. Also, if you're using electrolytic caps, make sure they're also connected properly. I also (personally anyways) believe in star grounding (which isn't quite as easy with a 9v battery).

Anyways, start retracing!

yeah im doing it...i still need the stomp switch, enclosure and the nkt275 to stick into the transistor sockets i added...

I've built a bunch of variations. That one looks basically the same as most.

Just check your wiring, and biasing.
I'm not very active here on UG currently.
I'm a retired Supermod off to the greener pastures of the real world.

cheers, i think it may be something to do with my dodgy soldering, it really is awful!

bah, i really am a retard! used the wrong value of pots i think, and also didn't have the switch on, so now i have sound, but not much fuzz, if you know what i mean.
