i bought sony acid 4.0 in a garage sale yesterday and tried to mess around with it but when i try to record anything the signal is too high and the bars on the record window say "clip" in red letters. the outcome is crappy distortion. i tried turning the volume down on my amp but the bars stay in the red zone no matter how low i turn it down. also, theres some fuzzy feedback that messes up the sound. so does anyone know how to get rid of the feedback or how to get a reasonable recording level? my setup is from guitar to amp input to rec/out to computer.
I tried Acid Pro once and I never could figure it out. I ended up ditching it and going with Audacity. Its not as versatile but it works pretty easy. Only downside is that it only supports .WAV files. Not really what you want Im sure but just thought Id offer.

File -> Export as MP3 and Export as Ogg Vorbis
you just need the lame_enc.dll file which you can find somewhere on the internet
and it easily opens MP3 files as well
nah, i think i'll stick with acid since i spent money on it
