now, this question could be a little, idk, but w/e... i dont feel like spending 500 bucks on a cab, so could i get a head and use it with my combo, or is that like pointless.

not that particular combo, i'm guessing that the speaker is connected directly to the amp. Some combos do connect from the speaker to the amp via speaker out, but usually they're tube combo's and that one isn't.

Now you could easily wire up the speaker to connect to the head. But i wouldn't reccomend it, because it would sound just horrible.

Not all cabs nessesarly cost 500 bucks.

I thought i saw a marshall 4 x 12 for $250 in a musicansfriend (120W though, so it'll depend on your amp). Also, peavy makes a decent cab as well.

Im not quite sure its impossible to "head up" a combo...but ive never seen it done before.

^^^Thats the MG cab, possibly the worst 4x12 on the planet.

if your combo you've got now has the speakers plugged into your preamp by a 1/4 inch plug then yeah you can just unplug that and plug that into your new head.

it'll work fine.

yeah...how is the Crate Halt stack... the GFX1200 i think..its only 5-600 for cab n head..hows that? oh and also, i prefer to use pedals rather than amp effects(if it has any)..but like dist. i love my gain setting on my pedal. so amp gain doesnt really make a diff. unless its sounds much better, but its too cheap to have a good sounding gain IMO. but ive never heard it.
