I'm looking for a twangy guitar that i'll be playing clean or with a bit of distortion for punk influenced folk. Right now I have a small solid state practice amp but I should soon have a hot rod deluxe. I'm set on a single coil guitar(already have humbuckers) and right now I am considering a standard tele, rickenbacker dakota or one of the lower priced gretschs. One problem is I am having trouble finding a gretsch or rick to play before buying so I'm leaning towards the tele is there anything I'd be missing if I did not get the gretsch or rick? thanks

I'd go for a tele, sounds like thats just what you need

and folk punk? when you do that record it or something and post it, sounds extremely intriguing

folk punk like flogging molly? tele or gretsch. tele would prolly be better, but if you can find a nice gretsch i would personally get that instead.

btw stringmagician listen to flogging molly, drunken lullabies as a song. youll understand.
