Ok so i guess this forum is used mostly for the "Which amp" type of threads that we all hate. So ive decided since my amp is a common recommendation, i would record clips and share the amps sounds with you all.

I will continuously expand my library of sounds and maintain them.

I used an Ibanez RG Prestige 2570E with Ibanez/Dimarzio pickups. I used various pick up configurations for the recordings. It uses the H-S-H configuration. I used the single coils in the Clean recordings.

The amp was recorded with a Tascam US-122 USB interface and a Direct Emulated XLR output from the amp.

The DRY clips are basically the amp on its own with its own built in reverb.

the EQ is completely flat on the Dry clips to give a basic tone. Apart from the Metal clip and John petrucci style lead.

For the WET Clips i used some delay and OD boost on the Overdriven sounds.

The only pedals you will hear used in conjunction with the amp are

ISP Decimator Noise Reduction pedal
Boss SD-1 Overdrive
Line 6 Echo Park delay pedal (Effects Loop)

Enjoy!

^ awesome, thanks man.

if you click the link in my sig, you could add it to that G & A soundclips thread.

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Wow that really sounds good. Ive got a DSL but it doesn't got that distorstion at all not even with a OD

Any chance you could do recordings from a mic because the XLR output isn't an ideal way of getting an idea of that "full sound" it sounds sort of like every other amp otherwise...

Il shall record some clips with the MIC, and about that "cool riff" now and again i will think of a kick ass and at the same time "Original" riff. After recording it and sending it to some friends to listen, they go "Adam, this is iron maiden" and im like "Wat?!" so yea i heard Iron maiden somewhere and the tune got locked in my creative spectrum within my brain and i thought i made it up, go figure eh? i hate it when that happens.

Sounds great, except it doesnt really, production wise. Maybe try micing next time, as going direct in makes it sound fuzzy.

agreed. It happens to me too, just I'm not normally ripping off maiden...

electrik:

I thought the clips were nice, but it'd be nice to get some mic-ed ones too- you know, it'd show how good the direct in is.

^ better- sounds more immediate or something. You're also picking up room ambience with the mic, which is nice.
