I was wanting to know how to record with a crate amp directly into my computer so I don't lose any quality. I have a multi effects digitech rp50 and two amps. Also I would rather use the crate's distortion than my multi effects pedal distortion. I was thinking running a cable from my guitar to my digitech rp50's input then running the output to computer but then I wouldn't be able to hear anything would I and it would be using the pedal's distortion? Hmm...maybe run a cable from the ext speaker jack on the amp to my computer? Any ideas?

don't use the extension cab plug. if it has a headphone socket, use that amd plug it into the line port on your computer

how do those marshall handles compare tonewise to, say, mesa handles?

Nope doesn't have an headphones jack on the amp. It just has an input, insert, and ext. speaker.
