shame midi is broken on my computer for some reason..

Try going to the start menu...

Start->Programs->Accessories->Entertainment->Volume Control.

Now, make sure the MIDI volume is all the way up, and the "mute" box is not checked.
I hope this fixes it. It works for a lot of people

And I make my own drum beats using the drum maps in Sonar 4. Thanks for the link though!

and no its not on the options for whitch sliders it shows either..

Look for SW synthesiser... That's how it's called on my pc... Maybe you'll have more luck with this...
