Does it work the same way as electric guitar, or is there a trick to it? Mine doesn't sound right. If isn't the same, is there a technique guide about for bass?
Same technique, it just sounds different because it's bass. Bigger strings, deeper sound, etc etc.

personally i think you shouldent burry your palm as much when muting a bass, to me the strings go to dead.

i use palm muting but i use it to play dead notes as i find you groove better with dead notes
