Yeah, I was @ that gig last night. Did you have a good time?

The Zico Chain were quite good I thought, just wished people were more into it.
But Thursday were friggin' amazing. Seriously fucking awesome.

Cross out the eyes, Jet black new year, understanding in a car crash were sooooooo damn good.

I was so close to getting a drumstick too, until someone knocked it outta my hand and over the railing. Then the guy next to me reached over the rails and nabbed it.
My shortness foils me once more

oh and i thought american eyes were shit.

yea thursday were sooooo good. as where the zico chain. but american eyes were a bit rubbish.

I wrote a review for the Fall of Troy show in Cardiff back in March and the Zico Chain supported. They seem to get about a bit. Anyway, this is what I said then and I still think it's pretty accurate:

"In stark contrast, main support The Zico Chain are about as intricate as a fat-fingered Godzilla, each song ending as abrubtly as it began. Subtlety, it seems, is not in their repertoire. Take everything you love (or probably more accurately, loved) about Nirvana's faster songs, say "Territorial Pissings" or "Breed", and you've got the basic formula by which The Zico Chain live by. Decide for yourself whether you think that's a good or a bad thing. The raw, down-tuned sound combines with dirty, snarling, almost annoyingly catchy choruses so expertly that it's no surprise that this is a band who've managed to sneak onto support slots with bands as diverse as Cave In, Alkaline Trio and The Fall Of Troy in the last couple of months. It's a frenetic, energetic live performance, culminating in the double whammy of "Rohypnol" and "Social Suicide", perhaps the band's two best songs, which seems to leave half of the crowd feeling like they've found the new Cobain, and the other half feeling like they've heard it all before."

And I'd love to see Thursday live. They were at Reading Festival 2003 but it clashed with The Bronx, which stone walls couldn't have got in the way of me being at.

judging from the pic, i'm guessing you were pretty close to the front? centre?
I was at front row, slightly towards the left.

I touched him too!
Was contemplating not washing my hand ever, but the intense sweat made me think otherwise. But yeah awesome gig

I wanna see Thursday SSOOOO BAD!

What was their setlist?
And if ever You come near, I will hold up high a mirror.
Lord, I could never show you anything as beautiful as You.

I was going to see Thursday last sunday, I had tickets and everything but I was having having family problems, so couldn't make it.

I saw American Eyes the day before the thursday gig though, cos they supported TBS in a warm up gig before their UK tour with Thursday. Theyre a good band. I met the main guy and everything albeit if I was a bit drunk.

They opened with Understanding in a Car Crash and Jet Black New Year for the encore.

In between, can't remember the exact order but they played:

For the workforce, drowning
otherside of the crash/over and out
counting
cross out the eyes
signals over the air
at this velocity
division street
paris in flames
how long is the night
lovesong writer
this song brought to you by a falling bomb

that's all I can remember off the top of my head at the moment, I might've forgotten something...

The Zico chain are kinda rubbish, and complete Nirvana duplicates... but they're incredibly nice guys....

I wanna see Thursday.

Damn ocean between Ireland and everywhere else.

I wish they'd played running from the rain. That'd have made the amazing night even better. But ah well, still a great setlist.

i would have loved for them to play this side of brightness, and where the circle ends

and dying in new brunswick

My ideal Thursday setlist:

Understanding in a Car Crash
Where the Circle Ends
Cross out the Eyes
Running from the Rain
Streaks in the Sky
For the Workforce
Steps Ascending
Signals Over The Air

Encores:
War All the Time
Autumn Leaves Revisited
This Song Brought to you...
How Long is the Night?

I'd cream myself.
And if ever You come near, I will hold up high a mirror.
Lord, I could never show you anything as beautiful as You.
