OK in a nutshell, for graduation my parents offered to get me something. I would like an amp. $1000.

What I'm looking for is a great classic and hard rock crunch and lead, smooth round blues tone, and glassy cleans. Gotta be a combo. Gotta be tube. Reliability has to be good.

The amps I've been looking at based off suggestions and personal experience are:

Vox AC30CC (I've tried)
Traynor YCV50 Blue (I could/need to try)
Ampeg R-212R (suggested by TN)

It might break you're budget a little bit but and Orange Rocker 30. They rock, if anyone saw my thread, well me and my friend tried one and they are amazing.

Orange amps aren't the easiest things to find in the States, in my experience.

Kinda want to stay away from orange. Too hard to find.

Ampegs are meant to be clean amps, they have some really cheap tube heads, but their drive( which is actually pretty non-existant) leaves something to be desired.
Ibanez -> Peavey -> Eardrums

Apparently I'm on some list of people to listen to..?

I personally wouldn't spend $1000 on an amp made of a rock, but i guess that's where we differ

I'm in a similar position to you. I'm kinda thinking between:

- Orange Rocker 30 (£550)
- Vox AC30CC (£550) + OD (£100)
- Hot Rod Deluxe (£470) + OD (£100)
- Used Marshall JCM800 (£400+)

When I try them out I'll let you know how I get on.

- Behringer EQ700

Eh, I hear that on the new AC30's the tubes are hard to replace. If you're gigging with this amp and constantly driving it, you'll need to replace the tubes maybe once a year, and if its a pain to get to, I probably would want to question whether or not its worth it. And when I say difficut, I mean the tube compartment is soldered closed. Just a heads up.
