Depends on what tone you want out of it. The bridge humbucker of a fat strat lends itself better to classic rock than a normal strat etc.

it depends on what you wanna do/play....
The difference between the fat and the standard strat is the bridge pick-up. The fat-strat has a humbucker, the standard strat has a single-coil pu in the bridge position.

Fat. You get more variety. A standard if you know it's the sound you want.
