I know I probably sound like the biggest idiot in the world, but please aid an idiot... How do you pronounce Schecter? When I go to try some out, I don't want to sound like a moron, asking the manager if I can play one. Thanks for your help!

Yeah.

Ibanez is originally a Spanish name. It seems like all the Americans say "eye-buh-nezz", even though that's obviously wrong.

That reminded me of that FedEx commercial where the guy goes into the building and says" I need to send this to p-ho-e-nix."

Ja, i speak a bit of german and hear it around quite alot (my father is german) it would be Shek-ter.

Ibanez, wow I had no idea you americans could be so stupid, well actually i had an prety good idea.. actually pronouncing something wrong doesnt make you stupid.. just the general american lifestyle etc.. lets just say i dont like america.

Eye-ban-ez Ive never heard that.. I say Ibb-an-ez, we dont pronounce I like EYE in south africa.. for anything. thats what make GW Bush sound so stupid when he tries to say Iraq ... EYErak its iraqu.. not should how to make it clear but i cringe everytime i hear american news.. it sounds terrible.

about the eye-ban-nez thing: I have heard 'eye' everywhere, but seeing as it is a name of the guy who invented it (not spanish as someone said), i am SURE it is pronounced 'Ibb-a-nez'. Plus I'm not American, so I;d know better (only joking, some of you can be clever, Satch!)

Ibanez is a Japanese company with a Spanish name. A lot of my friends say Eye-bAn-ez, but Ee-bon-ez rolls off my tongue easier.

For me, and Ibanez, i say it the American English way; eye-bah-nez. I say American English because the English us Americans speak is well different from the English the English people speak.
