These guys are incredibly deep. Really adds to their songs IMO, knowing that the lyrics are as complex as the music.
#3
that myspace page should be deleted

they are my favourite band, if not obvious, but they are pretty overrated in terms of complexity
#4
These guys are awesome. Kenose is so epic and awesome. Its like progressive black metal. I love it.

There was a thread on them not long ago, should still be around. But I'll say here what I said there; I love them, love Kenôse and their split with Moonblod.

Oh, and one more thing: Malign Paradigm
#7
There was a thread about a week ago on them.

Not really my kind of BM, but I do listen to them and absolutely love the first song on Si Requierem Circumspice (hmm, don't think I got that title right)

I swear to god I posted about these guys a few months ago and hardly anybody replied to it, meh.

I like them. I got Inquistor of Satan, and Infernal Battles which are both kill.

LoL @ the myspace page. That's funny.

Deathspell Omega are purely awesome. Si Monumentum Requires, Circumspice is a masterpiece...extremely epic and deep music.
#12
For the past couple of days, I have been listening to Si Monumentum Requires, Circumspice almost exclusivley. There are so many transitions from brutal raw evil black metal to tastey melodic groves (second prayer is fantastic). I can not wait for the second part of the "trilogy".

Also, how does a band of this magnitude stay so secretive? Barely anything is known about the band, yet they remain as one of the best in the entire genre.
#14
I never actually listened to them until now. What have I been missing out on?! This is so amazing, wow. Another great French BM band.
#15
I've known about them for a long time. Ace band.

Good band. Cover art is sick on Si Momentum.

Name sounds like a Final Fantasy tribute band. Haven't heard them and I don't like black metal so I probably never will.

^I love how a christian liek your self can enjoy a band who sings about the metaphysical nature of satanism (although I don't think satanism and christianity are actually mutually exclusive). This is an honest statement....I'm not bein sarcastic.

P.S. your myspace comments are hilarious.

so i appreciate your first statement and how you claim it to not be sarcastic. im an open minded person and listen to this band and all the bands i listen to because the music itself is enjoyable. however your follow up sentences make me feel like your indeed making fun of me.

The first statement was completely honest and the second half was me being a jackass. lololol.

I read somewhere that the album sounds like Gorguts playing black metal, which I think is a very good description.

Really getting into this band. Si Monumentum and the latest are both extremely epic and beautiful albums. Tech as hell at some points two.
#29
How did i miss this thread!

I really like their latest album, i can't remember how to spell it all so I'm not going to try.

Everything about the album is great for me i honestly can't find fault in it, i need to check out some of their older work as well.
#30
Does anyone know if it's actually the band who composes the Gregorian Chant sections? Like on Carnal Malefactor. Or even if they sing it themselves also. I just heard that it's simply a sample.
#32
I enjoy them immensely. I need to get their latest.

This band needs to be talked about on here more. 'Fas' is one of the greatest albums Ive ever heard. Hands down. Terrifying in its profundity and complexity.
#34
Been listening to them constantly for the past 3 weeks, fantastic band. I love the intro in "A Chore for the Lost". My favorite albums are Si and Fas.
#35
I'm still stumped by the genius of Fas. I've started to look into their metaphysical/ontological concepts out of pure curiosity. It really intensifies the album experience, for both Si and Fas.

For anyone who doesn't know too much about these concepts (me included) it can all be rather daunting but this review clarifies a lot (review by 'thomash'), and it's very interesting.

I've started to transcribe a lot of the more ultimately decipherable passages in 'Fas' for an insight into how they compose etc. It's quite a challenge considering the sheer texture of the music. Every time I listen I genuinely hear something new that eluded me before.

Amazing band. I've been digging the French BM sound lately and its definitely beating the crap out of the rehashed Scandinavian stuff. Fas is really the future of black metal. In a way even Mayhem have switched over to this new complex, atmospheric style of playing with Ordo ad Chao.

What amazes me about this band is the way its fanboys seem to believe that what they're doing is new. Wake me up when they get their shit organized enough to stand up against Frost or any of the recent Averse Sefira material. Until then, I'll continue to file them in the mental delete bin with Fleurety, Ved Buens Ende, Solefald and the rest of the bands who failed to make this shit interesting a decade ago.
