Yea, but it'll untune your guitar when playing eventually.

^The one outside his house going over a canal.

But I don't really see how it can be bad for the guitar bridge really.

it depends on which type of bridge you have, if you have a locking tremelo like a floyd rose it's not too bad.

what about a stetsbar, or a bigsby

Well if you have a good stable trem, you won't have to worry about tuning loss but if you do a lot of whammy things then the knife edges on the trem at the pivot point will get worn or the post studs will get worn (the two studs on each side of the trem where the trem pivots) and any of these two will cause detuning when using the whammy bar.

What kind of trem is it and what is the brand?

You get yourself a real Floyd' and it'll be just fine, mine doesnt tend to go out of tune if you do it once, and how many times you gonna want to do that in one song.
PLease note: I am not saying that people only do it once in one song, I am a Satch fan y'know, but I am saying that people don't tend to do it all teh way down very often.....

If you've got a decent floating bridge, ofcourse it's okay.
He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt.
He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice.

my old teacher said that it could brake something if you have a vintage trem...if you have a floyd rose you can obviously wank on it right to the body and it wouldnt harm anything, but he said that if i did that with my vintage trem then it would damage something seriously...so i never bend it more than like 2 cm's.

I remember someone telling me they broke the bridge on their guitar through vintage tremelo abuse. I don't like the thought of bending it down too far.

By the way, you sir have an awesome name (the guy above me).

There's a case that you can broke the tremolo bar and it gets stuck on the bridge, but the bridge itself, i don't think it will broke if you bend it down/up too much.
