Is it alright to spray lacquer over an un-even surface?

.... Yes, but once you buff it ip, the uneven surface will become apparent very quickly. It'll be like a bent miror.

if he puts it on so it is eventually thick enough, could he not sand it so it becomes smoothe? i know very little but it seems like it could be possible.

yeah, I am going to put 5 or 6 coats on. The reason it is uneven is because I am doing a weird but original finish. I have stuck magazine clippings all over it and I plan to lacquer over that.

Right then, yeah I guess if oy uput on about 10-11 thin coats it might work, since you'd have to sand quite a bit, depending on hwo layered the clippings are.
#7
they aren't that layered it's just that they don't go around the corners very well and crease up

Hm, Then you better cut them or glue them down so they stay on the corners, unless you nwat to put on a million+ coats of lacquer to cover it up sufficiently so oy udont' sand through, or get some weird creses that you can squish down and break teh lacquer with.

nah, it's alright, they are down, just a tiny bit uneven not sticking out
