Bathory (at some point)
Nargaroth
Mutiilation

But like grave said, there are so many black metal one man bands.

Edit: oh and drummers do count as members because it is very simple for an average guitarist to do vocals, guitar and bass on a black metal album. But drums need some practice if you never played it.
#9
^Especially if you want to play them well. Geez, hush up mydadisjewish with the Wintersun comment.
#12
Wintersun aren't a two man band anymore. They have a bassist and another guitarist now.

plague bringer consists of just two guys, one plays guitar, prgrams the drums, and sings, whilst the other guy does vocals too. one of them is not really needed

Yeah. The guy doing the guitar, drums and vocals is waaaaay overrated. The other guy should kick him out, keep it to the bare minimun, y'know.

Thread over

Also, Sonata Arctica is essentially a one man band. There are other guys in the band, but the vocalist Tony Kakko writes literally everything.

Isn't Old Mans Child one guy? If they aren't, I'm pretty sure they were at one point.

And..

My band. Because I hate working with other people.

Agreed, but it's a pain doing drums by yourself when you suck at drums

To Face The Slayer: Chuck did everything but drums on SBG, after that they were a 4-piece though.

If there are other people playing the material written by one person in the band, then it's still not a one-man band.

Agreed, at this point i wrote all the 25 or so songs.

Its cool sometimes because you take all the glory but i really want a full line up

^25 songs! Are they finished yet? Drummers are pretty hard to find but it's gotta be possible to find another guitarist in your area, right? If not, move to a southern province (Say.. Brabant just to give an example) and I'll play in your band

Yeah - OMC was just Galder at a few points. He just recruits some other musicians to help him with drums and stuff, although its looking pretty steady at the moment.

Although - I've always wondered what they do live when they actually are only one man...... Do they play back the drums and bass and stuff if they play guitar and sing? Kinda like lipsynching at a britney spears concert?

All the decent ones have already been mentioned. I don't know what it is that attracts me so much to solo projects, I think it's the fact that all aspects of the music come from the same guys thoughts and ideas, if that makes sense?

Nah, Burzum's so indecicive that his different mindsets qualify as a whole band.
