I play on a tele and i play on an LP. I can never find a way to use them both in an easy way. But i was wondering is the EMG 89 really like an EMG 85 and a nice sounding single coil? Cause sometimes the single coil's on those types of pickups dont sound well and sometimes the humbucker doesn't sound well.

If you like the EMG SA, I think you will like it, it's very close. I have the SA also, and when it's split, it sounds very similiar. It actually "is" an SA for all practical purposes when it's split. I actually like the humbucking mode better than the 85. It's sounds simliar to the 85, but a little more balanced and less boomy on the lower register.
