Hey guys,

I know that if you buy a head and a quad, that you need to match the ohms and the voltage (I Believe). Does more ohms mean that the amp will be louder/better? I have seen ones like the peavey XXX where you can change the ohms to fit the quad -would a quad with less ohms, sound worse or quieter than a box with more ohms?

Here is the point of this thread;

I was wondering - are there different types of quad boxes for tube and SS heads? If not, and there all the same, does that mean - the more expensive the better? Coz i've seen some for like $500 and the some for over $3000..... What would the difference be???

Thanks in advance,

i think if you have a 16ohm head you can hook up two 8 ohm cabs to it. the wattage should be more than what the head is rated at.

i think thats right

edit: no, Cabinets are not SS or tube dependant.

If he doesn't use a gameshark, it's not cheating.
