alright

my amp is crackling badly. its like... a loud burst of treble and volume. It just occer completely randomly sometimes, but also when i turn the tone knobs on my guitar (squier strat). now, i have tried different guitars on this amp, and it works fine. I have also tried my squier strat on different amps, and there is no crackling, even when turning the tone knobs. any ideas what might be wrong? it happened on clean settings as well as distorted settings.

ur guitar input might be loose. or the guitar cable might be bad.

swap the cable and jiggle the input.

well, if uve tried this guitar on other amps and its fine.

and uve tried other guitars on that amp and its fine.

then it has to be the cables ur using.
maybe uve accidentally used one or two bad cables? and then used good ones?
jiggle the cables in the inputs.

also, did u try other guitars thru that amp At that same location? sometimes the outlet is a problem.

I'll show you your problem

"Squier 10 watt (sounds better than the spider)"
+
"Rocktron Silver Dragon"

Trust me, I had that combo, it makes a horrible crackling. You need a bettter amp to run the thing through.

Try moving it to a different wall outlet. Sometimes the amp just isn't getting enough current. I have that problem too, just my amp "clicks" when I turn the volume up. Almost like a metronome. It just does it in one wall outlet though, so when I move it, the clicking goes away. It happened with my old practice amp and happens with my current Marshall.

try moving it and see if it stops. Since you've tried everything else, if moving doesn't help, get a new amp. You could probably even return it as well if it's the amp that's faulty.
