Yo guys,

What is Frusciante's main guitar. This guy is great but I never knew which guitar he used the most. I;ve seen him with a stratocaster, telecaster, jaguar sometimes a Les Paul. Which guitar does he play the most?

The Search button is your friend.

As for what he uses most, I believe it's a Fender Strat. All the shows I've seen him on he uses the same Strat. He also has a backup for it that's almost the same.

mainly he uses the strat, but for some of his heavier songs he'll use the telecaster

how does that work? why would he pick a TELE for his heavier songs? do you know what your talking about, because you also recommended a B.C. rich to a guy with 2 and a half grand.

He mostley uses a 61 white strat and 62 american sunburst strat and i do not think he is back on heroine i think u just try to make yourself noticed

Stfu, Sciante n00b, you know nothing of the man.

For the mostpart, what he said is true.
#20
you're gonna have to look at dimarzio single coils if you want a J.F tone, considering he uses stock fender singles
#21
right
right now I"m thinking about the HS-2 DP116 like Phil Collen uses in Def Lepard

can this give me a sweet, warm tone that can sound like Hendrix/Frusciante?
#22
His Jaguar in the Under the Bridge clip is my favourite.

He also used a Gretsch in Californication vid.
#23
He mainly uses his Strat, but he often uses a Telecaster and his White Falcon gets quite a bit of play these days.

right.....well the man you know SOOO much about said himself in the July 2006 Guitar World ( i have no clue why they are on july already.. ) that the main guitars he uses and has used were his 62 sunburst strat, his 61 white strat, and a 69 Les paul. I never disagreed with him using a tele, i did on him using it on the heavier songs. How about you STFU.... by the way, why the f*ck are you calling me a noob when you are one too, are you retarded or something, at least i realize i am one... why dont you go put on some RHCP and masterbate to a poster of john now...

^Calm yourself.

And John mainly uses the neck pickup on his '62 Strat (sunburst), '61 Strat (white) and his '55 Strat (sunburst with maple neck)
And apparently he has a '63 Sunburst Strat which looks almost the same as the '62.

All his pickups are stock, except on the '55, which he didn't know until after he bought the guitar, were some kind of Dimarzios or something, but he kept them in.

Yea he does, that's why I said mainly... lol
He uses his bridge pickup on a load of songs too, but he probably uses the neck a slight bit more.

Ever seen him play live?

He whips out a tele quite a few times.

Ive only seen one video where he used the Paul, guitar world sucks.

here a few he uses

1962 Fender Stratocaster three colour sunburst (rosewood fretboard)
1961 Fender Stratocaster Olympic white
1955 Fender Stratocaster (maple fretboard)
1965 Fender Telecaster (rosewood fretboard)
1963 Fender Telecaster
1955 Gretsch White Falcon
1962 Fender Jaguar Fiesta Red
Two 1940s Martin acoustics
Maton Messiah 12-string acoustic (which can be heard on "Breaking the Girl")
Fender bass of some kind

Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty

John has been seen playing a Toronado in the video for "Can't Stop" but he said that the director for the video insisted he played it.

He also has a Gibson SG not too sure what model though, it can be seen on the fortune faded video and i think it was a gift given to him by Dave Grohl

I reaaalllly doubt that. He won't play anything made after 1970.
