Hey i'm building my own guitar from a strat and i really hate the floyd rose so i'm switching it for a stop tailpiece and i'm wondering what the wire is that goes from the volume control into the cavity where the floyd rose springs are. it doesn't seem to do anything unless its just a ground in which case it will be no problem and nobody better comment on how stupid my strat will look with a stop tailpiece i just happen to like how it plays. If anyone can tell me what that wire does that would be a big help. Its pink, btw if thats any help...

lets make an emo song!!
first play same 2 power chords over and over
have a breakdown every 10 seconds
cry and whimper
dont forget the hair over one eye
and the depressing lyrics on how your teddy bear died!

i'm pretty sure it is just a ground. so you don't get electrocuted if you play in the rain.

so if i was to just drill a hole and solder that wire to the underside of a tune o matic bridge than it would probably still work right?
