This is a song I've been working on lately. It's quite long (about 7:00 on the recording I made). The only genre I can place it in would have to be progressive/classic rock...so I suppose that is the best I'm gonna be able to do to give you the feel of the song. Let me know what you think!

Winter's Ghost

Upon the wind
Rises a storm with no end
The sun hides, the fog will not die
Inside I sigh
I wait for the ice to melt away
I speak softly
To the skies as they lie
They tell me I?m free to leave
But I?m still here
A shadow has fallen
On everything I love

My thoughts gleam
With lost youthful dreams
The ashes fall, the embers will not die
Alone I sigh
Dreams have time to slip away
I look ahead
But everything looks grey
Can?t I find some peace of mind?
Out from this daze
Someone calling
?Please can you light my way??

Time is making a man out of me
But the river?s flowing on and I cannot keep up with the dead eyes looking back at me
Fear is taking the best of me
The same one that everyone knows and everyone?s thinking they might defeat

When everyone has moved on
I want to break and cower deep down
Rider, rider take these hand?s
You?ll never get the soul or these eyes

Fate has brought me to his home
Never will you see the light of my own
Rider, rider lift this heart
No longer do I need love that dies

Time is making a man out of me
But the river?s flowing on and I cannot keep up with the dead eyes looking back at me
Fear is taking the best of me
The same one that everyone knows and everyone?s thinking they might defeat

I?ll hide no more
I?ll open the door
Ride upon the storm
Let my death be warm
And no one needs to know
I?m frightened of the dawn
The day they find I?m gone

I liked the imagery, metaphors and adjectives alot - vivid and cold, and I love vivid and cold. but I think the whole underlying message and in particular a few lines (ex: "Inside I Sigh") are really kindof cheesy. Good job though.
Fears a powerful thing
