I dont know if I should post this in settings thread but my marshall tsl100 sounds bad. Im kinda new to the amp, but fiddling around with it, I just cant seem to get a good tone out of it. Current tone is this (http://youtube.com/watch?v=p6eTTFckyyU). That tone you're hearing in the vid, is based upon the "slash" setting that was posted in the Ultimate setting thread also I'm in the "Lead" channel. I'm trying to get the "slash" tone and "gary moore" kind but I just can't seem to get it. I'm using a Gibson LP Std in the Bridge pickup. If someone could get me that kind of tone that'd be awesome. Also if you guys can help me get the "all rounder kind of tone" like this (http://youtube.com/watch?v=OkMAcMm8vZo&search=gibson%20les%20paul) or (http://youtube.com/watch?v=UvrrVwubJfc&search=gibson%20les%20paul) also for clean tone, can someone help me achieve this (http://youtube.com/watch?v=o9Ujm4HEXGc&search=gibson%20les%20paul)
Thanks for all the help

For slash, you need more reverb, use your rhythm pickup, and throw some more bass on there. Also slash favors alot of mids.

Should I lower the tremble or distortion, cause most of the people who commented that said I have bad tone

How much gain are you using?
- Gibson Les Paul Studio
- Squier Standard Strat
- Roland Cube 60
- Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde
- Boss OD-3
- Behringer EQ700

Turn down the treble, crank the mids, turn down the gain, and turn the master volume up.

DEFINTELY crank it, but remember to turn down the gain when you do, tube amp cranked = natural distortion. if you can, more mids, more bass, and less treble.

Crank a 100 watt head in a small room? He better get some ear plugs too.

sounds like your pickups are too close to the strings, and you might roll back the tone control a little. also, if you turn down the treble and gain a little, it will sound chunkier for the rythm, and smoother for the leads

i'm using 6.5 gain on the lead channel. should i go to "overdrive" channel or stay with lead?

for your clean tone, set all your eq knobs to the middle. then move the low, middle and high knobs up all the way, one at a time while the other two stay in the middle. then do the same thing moving them down all the way while the others stay in the middle. Decide which "extreme" setting you like best, and move the knobs up or down a little at a time, according to which sound you liked best earlier... youll eventually find a balanced tone that has the characteristics you like.
