My friend just snagged an Rg1570 and said he was dead set on EMGs. I told him that I've heard that the they don't sound good in basswood and he asked what do they sound like? Thats when I realized I have never heard EMGs through a basswood guitar.....I was wondering if anyone had any clips of EMGs through basswood????

Does anyone know if there are any bands that use EMGs in basswood? All the metal bands that I know use EMGs tend to keep them in Alder/Mahogony.

Ibanez makes most of their guitars in basswood and tons of artists use EMG's in their RG series guitars.

Yes but half of the time the RGs are custom shops.

Trust me, look around on eBay enough, talk to enough RG owners, EMG's are a popular choice in Ibanez guitars. Ibanez's wood of choice seems to be basswood, even in their prestige models [why I'll never know ].
