OK, i have a roland cube 30, and I want a new guitar, after second thoughts about IC400 due to price considerations.

So this time i want a more unique guitar (shape) , so nothing like S, SA, or SZ by ibanez. I want a unique guitar. The price? the cheaper the better. nothing over 350 USD, I can go a little bit higher than that.

I play mainly metal, usually the heavier side, I also play some System of a Down etc etc.

Bear in mind that I live in Hong Kong, so nothing that is that uncommon.

could try looking at Alden guitars. Dont know how they play, but they have some nifty shapes

What about more common guitar brands? Like toyama, ibanez, fender etc etc.

The Omen 6 isn't exactly that unique..

Ibanez RVX220DX

The price in US is only $200

Here are the specs, i'd really love to get this guitar BTW;
- The neck is 1mm thicker than the Wizard II
- Ibanez INFs (H)
- BR-EG Ibanez Fixed bridge
- 24 LARGE frets, not jumbos
- Basswood, and Sharktooth inlay

EDIT: You can ask frm that shop to order for you.

Well I'd have to pay a bit more and well th guitar shape looks a bit weird, what about the strap lock placement?
No probs with large frets.
Again, madpickin to my rescue

/edit: basswood? since when has that become great for metal? besides the booming bass

One is at the top left side as you can see frm that pic, and another one i think is similar to a flying v, which is at the back of the bolt-on neck.

And for the metal, its still very good but its basswood, not mahogany, so you can notice a bit of a change, e.g. brighter tone, lighter weight.

Jeez, you could've said so.

And I don't like the shape much either, but you wanted something unique.

I'm probably gonna be punched in the face for this, but BC Rich recently came out with fairly cheap neck-thru's that play suprisingly well for their price, and especially for a BC Rich.
Dickless.

Yeah I was gonna say Ibanez Iceman too... Or some sort of a BC Rich? They're okay guitars and look weird as hell.
Jackson DKMG & KE3, Fender Mexican Strat, Stagg Acoustic

lol

anyways, as said, check out some of schecters stuff - they have some cool body shapes for relatively cheap prices. And maybe some Deans?
#29
Nothing over 300USD for gods sake, the Ibanez is well over 300 usd.

I don't think schecters and deans and washburns are exactly THAT common in Hong Kong here.
Thanks for your inputs anyway

What else are there? What about a better shape that PLAYS WELL>
#30
Jackson Warrior! you know its awsome. $299 usd.......cept the pickups could use an upgrade ^_^
we must become the change we want to see.

HOly crap, jackson warrior, but I don't think they have any here in hong kong.

Would it just be easier if YOU went to the guitar stores in Hong Kong to see what kind of guitars they have there?
#34
Quiet Stratwizard! :P

Well they have the more common brands like Fenders, Ibanez, Toyamas and Yamahas.

naw, i don't really want to order things online.

How dare you introduce me to agathis bodies!

Damn, BC rich? Are you mad? I want something that sounds nice, and basswood isn't exactly my type, a bit too boomy, but the looks kickass

Sorry then. Well... you don't like BC Rich's (nor do I). You like Fenders much?

(And by the way, I'm just giving you ideas, just go to the stores yourself and try out different things.)
