Curious question. Are there any British pop-punks bands? And i mean bands that are still playing, not 70s and 80s.
It's just that i noticed that most bands of this genre tend to be American, with a few Canadian
#2
It is a very Americanised genre, yes. But look and you'll find. Try The Fight, I believe they're British. I heard that somewhere. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong.
#3
there were quite a few in the 2002/3 pop-punk explosion but i think they've all but disappeared.
#4
if you call fightstar poppunk, then there you go

but you do actually make a good point,

=/

I think the majority of British pop-punk bands these days are just kids playing something they like to listen to. There were a couple around a few years back but it just didn't work in the same way that the Americans managed it. I think we generally went a bit more on the punk side of things to some of the bands around today and the record labels didn't see so much potential in them.

Spunge are alright but they're really just horn-less ska. Also, Pickled Dick are a good UK pop punk band. Other than that.....

The Buzzcocks.

They helped invent the genre.

was wondering how long this would take

read the threadstarter again.

I think that The Libertines are considered british punk, but I'm not sure if it's pop-punk, but it could be..

Oh, and Busted.. Haha!
Did you see the stylish kids in the riot?

I hate AVA. They sound like U2 and Rush getting beat up by Panic at the Fall Out Boy.

Technically they count as they're still playing

But no, I'm being picky and I don't think that's what the threadstarter was after either. But The Damned were better anyway.

Amazing indie pop-punk bands:

The Riverclub
Chaser
Fastlane
My Awesome Compilation
Fleeing From Finales
Haemostatic Picnic Races
Furthest Drive Home
Pictures of Shanghai

You HAVE to give them a listen. I'm not joking

There are a lot of good pop-punk bands in the UK that don't get the attention they deserve. I only know about them from playing with them. If they gig near you then I recommend you go

I'll post more bands when I think of them

EDIT: Added more
