i have just bought myself a fender fat strat, and i want to buy a new amp as well. Unfortunately, it's not such an easy desicion to make, cuz most of them in my budget, which is around 180 bucks, have got some pretty bad reviews. Also, I'll be playing with my band, so I'll need somethjing quite loud. I've looked at the marshall mg15dfx, but that's only 15 watts, and I've also looked at the fender frontman 25r, but everyone says that's quite a crap amp.

Please can someone helpm me.
Thanks.

save up for a cube 30 (higher gain) or a vox 30 (classic rock models.)

u can buy them new for about $225.
or check out music123 and musiciansfriend for "B" stock.

you might be able to shave off another $20 or so.

do urself a favor and dont settle for an MG. ull want to shoot urself in a couple of months.

Hmmm.... I *think* a Vox AD30VT would be best, but I'm not really sure which of the two (Cube and Valvetronix) does Punk better.

i think the best amp for its price is a spider II 30 watt from Line6. Its $200 but its an amzing practice amp, especially if ur into punk and metal

DO NOT USE A !5 WATT you can barely hear those things over the drums
#15
No don't listen to that kid. Line 6 makes horrible amps unless all you play in nu-metal. Go with the AD30VT. It's the most versatile practice amp on the market and can do punk way better than the Line 6 or the Cube.

neh, it's all taste, really. though I would say that the Cube surpasses the Line 6 most of the time, it's not THAT bad. I think the voxes are best, but they are lacking a little bit of high gain which the cube definitely has.

Try out a Fender FM25DSP, it's $200 (could probably haggle at a store, but $200 no shipping/taxes online)... good cleans, nice headroom. Not bad at all
some cool modeling effects

I know. When I heard those clips from the Spider II in the Vox vs Line 6, my opinion changed entirely about the Spiders.

its important to realize that cubes are built to last. if u search UG for amp problems, ud be hard pressed to find any cube threads.

on average u'll see 2 spider threads a month.
for vox ull find some speaker problems (vox30) and input problem threads. (minor, but still)
