Let's say that I plug my guitar into bass head that is connected with 1*15'' bass cabinet...

Are there any downsides to this? I play with heavy gauges and I downtune alot so I was thinking that this combination would give me bigger, massive and cleaner low end I'm after...I don't shred and I don't play leads....my style of music is Drone/Doom.

if you got a pedal, i say go for it.
i play through my bro's little Fender Rumble 15 bass amp, while using my DS-1, and i like it. i like my cleans low like that, so i can set the amp to really bassey settings, while have my pedal set to be trebly, and it balances out nicely for metal, i think.

Well listen to Master Of Puppets. James Hetfield uses an Ampeg SVT (all tube bass amp head) for teh clean parts.

There's no danger of damaging the amp, if that's what you're wondering.
