Ive recently been doing my grades and one aspect is sight reading. I definitely need to improve at this - has anyone got any useful excercises?

Obviously memorise what all the notes are on the staves for both treble and bass clefs.

Then all you can do is just play; just fish around and pick up any old piece of music and try to sight read it. It all comes down to practising sight-reading as much as you can so you can at least get the general feel of how to go about doing it.

Ooh, and obviously learn to play without looking at the instrument.

Hope that helps.
