Something weird goes on with my guitar after i play a D-chord and mute it silent. It does a weird harmonic thing that makes me angry. I have no clue why it does this and how to fix it would also be a good help to me. Thanks...

because you're probably doing a natural harmonic when you mute it, try muting it elsewhere

no, its the strings vibrating above the nut [over the headstock]
wrap something around the strings to keep them from vibrating
it will help a little bit, but its kind of unavoidable. if its electric you wont hear it ifyou use a noise gate or maybe you just wont hear it. if its acoustic, not much else to do
yeah
