I am having some real trouble with these. A more specific example of the problem is something like this

|-------|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
|-10----|-13p10--11p10---13p10---11p10--11p10-------------------------------|
|-12b14-|------10-----10------10------10------12p10-------------------------|
|-------|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
|-------|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
|-------|-------------------------------------------------------------------|

---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|-13p10--11p10---13p10---11p10---10h11p10-----------------------------------|
|------10-----10------10------10----------12p10-----------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

|------------------------------------------------13---------------------------|
|-13p10--11p10---13p10---11p10--11p10-------13b15--15r13p11-13b15-------------|
|------10-----10------10------10------12p10-----------------------------------|
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|

I assume I bar the 10th fret, but my problem is the strings tend to continue ringing. Is that how its supposed to be. It is kind of hard to mute the strings since this is done pretty fast.

Perhaps, when you're in the bar position and have hit the tenth fret on the G string, lift the tip of your index finger up so that it mutes the note, while the pad is still acting as a bar for the B string.

i find it easier to mute the string with my picking hand rather than trying to "roll" my finger, especially if it is played fast. rest your pick hand on the strings just in front of the bridge, and mute the string after playing it, once you get the hang of only muting the right string it is much easier than "rolling" in my opinion.
