Hey. I'm fairly new here, but from reading around, it seems that most of you know what you?re talking about, so I came for a little advice.

Sorry for the biography...
I have been playing for about four years now and I, as well as the guys in my band, think it's time for me to get a second guitar. We play mainly heavy metal, along the lines of Children of Bodom, In Flames, and Avenged Sevenfold, and Arch Enemy, but my Les Paul just doesn't really give me the sound I?m looking for (although it is a beauty).

My other guitarist suggested a Schecter C-1 FR (http://www.schecterguitars.com/index.asp) which I have played it and have found that it fits incredibly well with what I am looking for (Floyd Rose/Tremelo, a nice set neck, EMG's 81/85, and most importantly an amazing sound), but it has a fairly heavy price tag for a full-time university student with only a part-time job.

I have been looking at some Ibanez guitars, and they all seem great, but I am yet to find one with any EMG's in it (which is not required, but I have become slightly attached to). I have also had my eye on a couple LTD's;
EC-400 http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_ec.html
M-400 http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_m.html
MH-400 http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_mh.html
But all are just stretching out of my price range of about $600-$700.

Sorry for all the **** to read, but I feel the more information I give, the better answer I will receive...

I would bump up my price range, but I am not willing to sell my Gibson LP (too much sentimental value) and am wary about finding a new, better amp if I were to sell the one that I have now. I am currently playing through a Peavey Studio Pro 112, which is nothing fancy, but I manage a fair sound through it (and use a friends rig for live shows).

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any advice.

*Moved to EG.*
I'm not very active here on UG currently.
I'm a retired Supermod off to the greener pastures of the real world.

I wouldn't go for cheap LTD's, but take a look at some Jackson MG series guitars. The DKMG has EMG's, a FR, 24 frets, but a bolt-on neck, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Im just gonna recommend you some Ibanezs:
- RG1570/S-Series = If you want very reliable trem
- SZs (not GSZ) = If you wanna go for Uber sustain
- Used RG570/any RG5xx or RG7xx series = If you want a cheap solution with a very reliable trem.

Apparently the hardwares are good, intact, body is great, paintjobs are awesome but the only downside is that you might want to upgrade the pickups, which is good IMO, following ur own preference.
