please help me out with this...

I wanna buy a stage amp this summer but I have some trouble chosing.
I need a bright sound, to match my Nirvanalike grunge and I also need power.

Some of you guys said I should chose a Fender Twin Rerveb, but my eyes fell on a marshall top and a a box.

the top is a Marshall MG100HDFX and a 250 watts RMS box

now, my question is which one I should take, because I really don't need all those reverbs and stuff. or is there another good fender amp?

any reactions?

Definately not the MG.

Twins are amazingly nice amps, and stay loud and clean.

Go to a shop, and try out a load of valve combos, not solid state halfstacks.

What's your price range/ playing styles and tones are you looking for?

My max price range is 800 euro(? dollar)

I'm thinking of a used Fender Twin reverb, if it's gonna be a twin reverb

I need much of high tone, but not that much low/bass.
I think bass is for a bass guitar, so you can clearly heard the sound of the bass when it kck in

Ok then, have you gone to a shop and try loads of amps yet? If not, do.
Then decide what you like best etc.

But with the Twin, do you really need 100watts?

forgive the ignorance, but i thought twin reverbs were like 60 or 65 watts?....

They have such funny names for their amps...

I think the Twin-Amp is 100 watts, beyond that i have no ideaz0rz.

I do need 100watt. I must have enough power to play gig in a gym.I think 100 watt tube power is what I need.

tubes amps generally have more power than a 100 watt solid, right?
#11
Yea, they're generally 2.5 the volume of SS amps at the same wattage.

But.... You don't need 100watt to do a gig, you'll kill people with that amount, a 50w would be fine, maybe even still too loud.

yeah, that very cool, but I think it's always good to have some reserve power

but do you know about the tubes of a twin reverb? is it an all tube amp?
because now I think even more that the Twin reverb is the one amp I need
#13
Yea it's a tube amp.

But 100watts isn't that much louder than 50watts, it's a bit louder, and has more headroom though, if you want that.

Just try out a load of valve (tube) amps in a shop, see what you like best.

for grunge i wouldn't go with a twin.

for 800 euro you could get a marshall jcm 800 or 900.
you could aslo check out some laneys.
