Me personally, like many others, am a Stevie Ray Vaughan fanatic...anything and everything SRV...anyway i play similar music besides SRV all the blues...and i was curious besides learning his music how can i bring more of that Texan Blues sounds in my own improvisation...i kno the basic pentatonics and blues scales...i was wondering if there was anything i could do to bring more into my own style...

I always thought the tone was important ... basically your Strat, Tube Amp and some Overdrive

Expand your playing outside of SRV ... ZZ Top is great, some newer stuff like Chris Duarte and Kenny Wayne Shepherd

Even listen to some Lightin Hopkins and Freddie King

Don't want to be an actor pretending on the stage
Don't want to be a writer with my thoughts out on the page
Don't want to be a painter 'cause everyone comes to look
Don't want to be anything where my life's an open book

Phish - Waste

Look into some T-Bone Walker too. He's a brilliant guitarist, who I'm pretty sure was a Texan.

The difference from the stock and modded sd-1 is it sounds warmer and has better pick response. As in the harder you hit it the louder it sounds, it has a great bass response as well.

Also its almost true-bypass so it doesnt take as much tone away from you signal, since they change out the stock parts and put in high-end ones.

Yea its a great mod, Id definetly recommend it for that overdriven blues tone as well as a signal booster. You also get a free sticker with it.....lol
