I just got some cash for graduation (almost a grand!), and I want to buy a power attenuator for my Marshall JCM900. I need the cranked tone, but not the volume. The problem is, I don't know what makes a good one. I have heard good things about the Marshall Power Break and the THD Hot Plate, but further advice would help greatly. Thanks in advance. By the way, I'm looking to spend less than $500.

I've got a Mini Mass, it's got a bit of treble loss, but one notch up on the tone control pretty much fixes it. I'm sure the Masses are even better.
