Yo,
I need a distortion pedal. I play a wide range of styles and the thing has to be versatile. I have been looking at these two:

Boss DS-1

Digitech HotHead

Which one would be better? Or is there some other pedals that might be good..?

I think your best bet would be the the Ds-1 and even better with the Keeley Mod. Maybe the Mt-2 keeley mod also .. I'm not sure on that one though. Mt-2 is more for Metal considering its called the Metal Zone. But I've heard that it is pretty versatile also.

But isnt the Uber metal strictly for metal...?

EDIT: to the guy two posts above

get the DS-1 i think its everybodys first distortion pedal, it is good for the price

so out of those two the better one would be the Boss?
I checked the sound samples of the Uber Metal and the Metal zone, and sounded kinda too metal-ish...

Yea the better would be the boss. But it would help if ya got to try them out. That's the best thing you can do.
