same old thread all over again

ok heres the deal... i can get an epiphone 310-sg and a crappy amp

or a squire affinity series guitar (comes with free gig bag) and a vox valvetronix amp

which should i get (for the sg i might be able to get a valvetronix ... but no case at all)

(by the way i would have about three hundred dollars and its my first electric)

im focusing on the amp to both be good... i know it would end up being somewhat cheap but i have my mindset on the valvetronix

Then get this guitar, I've played it and for the money it's good. At a later date you can take it to a guitar replairman and for $30-50 you can have the neck set to get rid of any buzzing.
Then get this amp.
Then of course you should have about enough for a chord, tuner, and picks(get heavy)

Id get this Dean over the Epi imo, 2 buckers for variety. I bought one for my son and I was able to set it up to play nice and it didnt sound bad with basswood body and decent output buckers. Very good for a first guitar.

I like the distortion sounds out of the Roland CUbes better than a Vox but for clean or bluesy overdrive the Vox sounds better.

Washburn WI14 and the Vox. You won't find a better guitar in that price range than the WI14. I love mine and I'm way past the "beginner" stage. Plus you can get gigbags for like $15 or get the store to throw one in, so it's not that big of a deal. You could easily get the vox amp and the WI14 for $300.

Edit: Here's a pic of the WI14. Same color that I have. :cheere:
