What's the difference between Distortion and Overdrive? They both sound really similar to me, can anyone tell me what's specifically different?

Distortion is digitalized overdrive as far as I know. You can't make distortion from a tube amp, It's overdrive.

Overdrive is the effect of old amps being pushed too hard and breaking up and distortion is distorting the signal. Or something along those lines.
